Privacy Policy

Presend (“we”, “our” or “us”) operates the website https://getpresend.com (the “Website”), the Presend browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium browsers (the “Extension”), and the dashboard and API behind them (together, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy is expressly incorporated into our Terms of Service.

When using the Services or accessing the Website, you may provide us with personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”). This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, who it is shared with, and the choices available to you.

It covers the Extension running in your browser and the API it talks to. It does not cover the third-party services you use Presend on top of — your email provider, Slack, LinkedIn or X — which are governed by their own policies.

Draft content. While a compose window is open, Presend reads the draft you are writing: the subject line, the body text, and the recipient email addresses. It also detects whether a file is attached — it reads that an attachment exists, never its contents.

Presend reads this from the page itself. It does not connect to the Gmail API, the Microsoft Graph API, or any mail provider API, and it holds no mailbox access. It cannot read your inbox, your sent mail, your archive, or any message you are not actively composing.

Account information. Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. If you sign in by email code, we hold the address and a short-lived, single-use code.

Usage records. For each check: a one-way SHA-256 hash of the body, its word count, the resulting scores, which rules fired, the platform, and a timestamp.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers, CVC, expiry dates and cardholder names are entered on Stripe's systems. Presend does not store or manage card details, and never sees them.

To run a check and return a result: detecting leaked secrets and personal data, mismatched links, missing attachments, external recipients, off-voice tone and AI-slop, and to produce a rewrite when you ask for one.

To show you your own history and usage in the dashboard, to apply plan limits, to bill Pro subscriptions, and to send you transactional email such as a sign-in code or a receipt.

We do not use your message content to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Anthropic.Message text is passed to Anthropic's API for the AI portions of a check and for rewrites. Anthropic does not train on data submitted through their API. If you supply your own API key, those calls go out under your key and your own agreement with the provider.

Stripe for subscription payments, Mailgun for transactional email, Google for Sign in with Google, and Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage.

Tools you connect. If you attach your own MCP server or REST API as a rule, the text needed to evaluate that rule is sent to the endpoint you configured. You control which endpoints those are.

We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights. If Presend is acquired, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

None. Presend has no public profiles, no shared feeds and no social features. Nothing you write, and nothing a check produces, is visible to anyone outside your own account.

If your team uses shared organisation rules, other members of your organisation can see the rules themselves — never the contents of your drafts.

We do not store your message body. We record only a one-way SHA-256 hash of it, which cannot be reversed into the original text. We do store the subject line of checked messages, along with your user ID, the platform and timestamps, so the dashboard can show you your own history.

The specific words a rule matched are shown to you in the browser so the extension can underline them, but they are stripped before anything is written to our analytics store.

Data is held in Amazon DynamoDB in the US East region. Traffic between the Extension and our API runs over HTTPS. Sessions use signed tokens that expire.

Stored on your device only. Your sign-in token, your account details, and the list of sites you have muted Presend on are kept in your browser's local extension storage. They are not synced to us.

Your voice profile. Presend learns how you write from messages you actually send, so it can tell you when a draft does not sound like you. That collection happens entirely on your device: the messages it keeps and the profile built from them are never uploaded, never synced across your devices, and never attached to any request to us or to anyone else. Quoted reply chains are removed before storage, so it keeps what you wrote and not what was written to you. At most 60 messages are held per platform, oldest dropped first.

Permissions. Site access so the extension can attach to a compose box; storage for your session and settings; identity for Sign in with Google; scripting to attach the checker to a page; tabs so the popup knows which site it is showing you settings for.

Account deletion. You can delete your account and its stored data at any time from the dashboard, or by emailing us. Once deleted, personal information associated with your account is removed from our active systems and any tools you connected are disconnected.

On your device. Uninstalling the Extension stops all collection immediately and clears everything held in your browser. You can also turn voice learning off, or erase every stored message and profile, from the Extension's options page at any time, without deleting your account.

If you would like us to delete records beyond what account deletion removes, write to hello@getpresend.com and we will help wherever it is legally and operationally possible.

We may update and amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect is subject to the policy in effect at the time it is used.

If we amend this policy we will update the date above. If the change materially affects what we collect, we will also notify signed-in users. Continuing to use the Website and the Services after an update means you are bound by it.
